Poop sausage🤣 I don’t think you will have any problems with your children. Love and laughter go such a long way!

Sometimes I feel like all parenthood is, is shit people don't tell you about.

Thank you Anna. Parenting is particularly about what they don’t write in books

This is very true especially in Black American villages (including urban villages): Raising children used to be a “village affair” where teachers were respected authority figures and other adults could tell your child they were doing something wrong were that the case.

Exactly. I love the African saying “it takes a whole village to raise a child” . It was the inspiration for that paragraph and for everyone I am alone with the children and need the toilet. If we are in a bakery I look around, pick a victim and say- ok! Your turn to be my village, look over my children while I pee”. It works EVERYTIME!

This: She KNOWS shit. If she ever comes up with “the no-cry method to get over your useless French boyfriend”, I want a signed copy. Is hysterical 🤣🤣🤣

Decemberists, very nice. I’ll have to check that song out. Besides these parenting books, I’ve heard there’s a lot of TikToking and instructional social media on parenting that is probably best to ignore.

“. . .mildly functioning adults. . .” Is subjective, no? I do hope parenting is graded on a curve.

Oh Bill, unfortunately, there are as many curves as parenting books. I would say that self sufficient and emotionally stable is my goal. Others would say- CEO and overall business success. Others- someone who marries well and makes me proud with exemplary behavior… so go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️
