What about going the other way and turning your body into a diamond? My mom always jokes that when she passes, we should do that with her body, put it on a ring and turn it into a family relic.

Fantastic idea. The main caveat is, I guess, the time invested. Diamonds are forever, but they also take forever to make. In any case nothing says “I love you” like “here is your engagement ring, my great grandmother is encrusted there.”

No, it's an actual service now, and it doesn't take that long. You can cremate -- well, anyone you want, really -- and then high-T press the ashes into a small diamond. Google it, it's true.

There is probably an idea for a serial killer thriller somewhere here.

Wow! I’m going eternal the classy way! Thanks for the heads up!

I can already see the headlines too!

Police are trying to figure out how many rings out there were made with the victims.

Of course, the craziest thing is that people do it to their pets as well now, and in fact, when we had to cremate our dog, this was one of the options.

Yeah, "put down the diamond ring, you sick bastard!!"

I would like to be used as a cadaver in medical school dissections. There’s a global shortage of cadavers right now, as fewer and fewer people choose to donate their bodies to this cause. For this reason, many medical schools have given up cadaver dissections for first-year students. But this is such an important piece of future physician training, that cannot be replicated by the best simulation. Have you considered being a future cadaver yourself? It really extends the amount of time folks can admire your fabulosity, as an added bonus.

I have! And then, when done with you, they bury you for free! Might go that way. I remember my cadaver. She died of some cancer that gave her liver metastasis (I remember seeing them as I carved my way into her body) and still she had pink nail polish on. What a wonderful woman she must have been.

I have heard too of a green burial where your body is wrapped in a sheet and buried standing up so you take up less space and can rise from the ground (like the zombies in Thriller!).

I can just imagine thousands of corpses crawling out of the earth like this 🤣. I like the idea, my varicose veins maybe not so much 😂.
