I am not one to get mushy about other people’s children, but these three little creatures of yours were such a mood boost to scroll upon!
And I agree that there is a certain halo so to speak that we emit, an orbit within which we can influence and deeply affect lives, and I think focusing on that creates the biggest impact, and sense of happiness and reward.
Sometimes dispersing yourself onto all of the world’s ills just depletes a person and leaves one bitter.
What I find helps me the most is a mantra I repeat when the sadness becomes unbearable “I cannot fix the world, but I can do this today” and this ranges from talking to my kids about why we don’t buy presents on birthdays but focus on experiences, or my monthly contribution to UNHCR and SOS Children’s Villages, or be more present around the children, or have a chat with friends I never see. All of this I hope and pray make the air more breathable.
Great reflections on the nature of complaining. I especially like your ex's "green room, white room" analogy. I can think of a couple of people right now to whom I might have to retell that one!
I feel attacked!Maybe I will take the hint and stop complaining so damn much, lol.😅😅😅😅
But seriously, great piece.
Thank you GiGi!
In loveeeee
