Thank you Bethel. I think none of us knew what we were in for. We took our usual approach. I read everything i could get my hands on. He just went thinking “let’s see what this is about”. We make a good team 😊.
I like the dissection of your birthing process into parts of the story. Also, your boyfriend saying, "I am vigilant," while you prepared so intensely for the birth, is such a man thing to say; it is as if he is waiting on an impending disaster. It is both ridiculously funny and shows he was taking the situation as seriously as you, if not misguidedly. Nicely done ^.^
... I'd absolutely say something similar, I don't know what yet but I definitely know it would be as confusing to my wife as that line is to you. Once she's pregnant I'll know.
Thanks so much for referencing me here! Not been on twitter substack much for last few weeks. More anon! Just wanted to make sure I responded to your kind mention.
In my opinion, it felt like all the bones from the pelvis down were disconnecting from my joints being slammed to the floor over and over again, and that is all due to my demanding natural childbirth, and have I mentioned I made that demand twice...... (and what is wrong with physicians? They know pregnant women have pregnant brain, why ask a pregnant woman if she wants to endure the worse pain of her life, and if one does, why listen if she says yes?)

As a man, thank you for describing this process in a way that helped me understand and for C letting me know what not to say.

Your down there is devastated!...ha, laughed out loud. How dare he!!
I would never just say, "I am vigilant."

Bravo!!!! And a very accurate representation of labor pain!
Loved this story. Poor C. I've only ever witnessed a birth... that shit was gnarly!
Bold line from C after birth, bold indeed. I wouldn't have attempted :)
Disney is going to sue you...
Jeez Ana , thanks a lot.
I am 8 1/2 months pregnant. Just kidding…
That was simply brilliant!
